RUSHED TO GENERAL HOSPITALYes, it's true! When the producers of ABC TV's General Hospital expressed their desire to have Ms. Washburn appear on the legendary daytime drama, she rushed there as quickly as she could. And now, the actress who was featured on more than 500 TV shows and in some classic motion pictures from the 1950s through the 1980s will once again be seen on national TV.
Dateline Hollywood, California MOTION PICTURE ACADEMY ACKNOWLEDGES BEVERLY WASHBURN FOR HER 1952 APPEARANCE IN THE OSCAR WINNING FILM, "THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH." On Monday, October 21, 2002, Beverly Washburn was invited to attend a screening of the 1952 Best Picture of the Year, "The Greatest Show on Earth." This event took place at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Hollywood, California.
Ms. Washburn was introduced to the sellout crowd by an official of The Academy following her appearance on screen in a touching scene with the legendary star, James Stewart. The event was one in a series celebrating Oscar's 75th anniversary.
